One of our good friends messaged me last week. His daughter had been diagnosed with Celiac Disease and he wanted some good getting started info. I sent him a message with links to my “getting started” posts, and then I realized how convenient it would be to actually have all those posts on one page.
First Things First,
What Is Gluten?
Gluten is a protein found in certain grains, wheat, rye, barley and spelt that cause an autoimmune reaction in people with Celiac Disease and illness in people with gluten intolerance. Because of processing procedures, oats are often contaminated with gluten. Gluten free oats may still cause an autoimmune reaction in some people with Celiac Disease.
What Is A Gluten Free Diet?
A gluten free diet is a diet that completely eliminates all gluten. People on a gluten free diet can eat naturally gluten free food or gluten free varieties of their favorite baked goods.

There are also recipes on this site, most are easy, I don’t personally like to spend all day in the kitchen, and I usually have a little “helper”, so I have to have easy recipes or I lose track.
